Your donkey cart and donkeys

Your low-carbon footprint, green mode of transport for the day is a specially designed and built donkey cart tailor made for your comfort and sight seeing pleasure.

Your donkey cart has been made from lightweight metal and alien timber (Pine/pinus pinaster and Black Wattle/acacia mernsaai) gathered from the local Mamre Nature Reserve (locally known as “die Natuur Tuin”)

The Mamre Donkey Trail makes a special effort to ensure that the donkeys are well looked after during, and after your tour with us. Special accredited harnesses are used, and strict guidelines for the care and maintenance of donkeys are adhered to at all times.

You will be pleased to know that your cart itself weighs only 120 kilograms, nearly a quarter of most conventional carts on the road.
