The lunch menu

The lunch menu is a mouth-watering variety of local traditional specialty dishes all prepared by Mamre residents. Lunch is served outdoors next to the local Mooimaak Rivier ala country-picnic style.

Our lunch dishes include traditional fish-balls (vis bolletjies), curry-balls (vet-koek with mince), fish (snoek) Potjiekos of the day (a traditional broth of meats/vegetables cooked in a iron oval pot on a fire) and Ginger beer (Gemmer Bier).

We also serve ice-cold soft-drinks, a variety of local beer and red and white wine on request.

We also provide specially prepared meals for vegetarians, so please just let us know in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements for you!

Special arrangements can be made for larger groups in our local restaurant (a historical monument) at “Die Werf”. Please contact us should you be interested in bringing a larger group to Mamre for the day, or if you have a special event planned.
